Ryan Maticka is an illustrator and printmaker based in Minneapolis, MN. His work explores themes of masculinity and intimacy. Most of his figurative work is done via virtual figure drawing co-ops, where models are live streamed to participants. This modern form of the drawing co-op emerged in response to covid-19 lockdowns and has connected artists and models from our world. 

Ryan operates a small screen printing studio at the 2010 Artblok building in SE Minneapolis. There he creates vibrant screen prints of his digital drawings and illustrations. Ryan sees printmaking as a natural compliment to digitally drawn work. Printing is  necessary step for digital work to exist in the physical world. For Ryan, hand screen printing his digital drawings is a logical continuation of the creative process. 

Ryan has exhibited work in local gallery shows in the Twin Cities including winning Best in Show at the Safeword Erotic Art Show in 2024.
